Mermaid Beach Keepsake Box

Hey Hey Crafters

Today I am sharing a new project with you all which has been made using the wonderful products from the July Pickle Pack.
One of the things I love about being on the Design Team for Pickle Paper Patch is that I get to work with fantastic products which spark an array of ideas of what can be done.

So today I am sharing something very special with you all which has been all handmade from scratch, So thought I would first show you the first few stages of making the box.

As I had mentioned above this was made from scratch every piece was hand-cut also and was a labour of love and I have to say the finished product has made every minute of this worth the time, love, effort and passion worth it.

Now to show you all the box all decorated. To decorate the outer edges I used some stunning designer series paper called Down By The Sea from Bo Bunny, which is included in the pack. The closure was also made from the same designer paper as what is used on the edges and is finished with a very cute laser cut seahorse which is also included in the pack.

Now for the inside of the box, all decorated using some of the beautiful designer series paper which is included in the kit

Now to show you the lid in more detail. The lid was made up of embellishments from the Pickle Pack excluding the large starfish and the base which everything sits upon is DecoArt Sand Texture Paste.

The mermaid has had a glitter paste finish put over her to make her sparkle this paste is in my own supplies. I also went over the sand texture paste, rope and edging with my blending tool and a little Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The lid does feature real shells which are in the pack along with the small cork vial, rope, laser cut starfish and seahorse.

Lastly I thought I would show you a little video of all the pictures together

So as you can see I have made a fair sized project with just a few supplies from the pack, I have plenty of supplies left to make more projects.

To get your very own Pickle Pack go to the Pickle Paper Patch Website. These packs are available every month and each one with a different theme, they are released on the 20th or each month and if you order before 26th you also get a free gift.

You can also find Pickle Paper Patch on Facebook and Instagram, Make sure to check out the Pickle Paper Patch Blog and You Tube Channel.

Make sure to keep your eyes open for more projects made with this fantastic Pickle Pack. I hope you have enjoyed taking a look at this Keepsake box and it has given you some inspiration with what you can achieve with just a few supplies and a bit of imagination.

New Beginnings Art Journal Page

Hi all

Today I have an art journal spread to share with you all which I also did while at the crop on Saturday.

I wanted to have a messy day while there so only took my art journal and mixed media products with me I will say though I did not take everything I own to do art journalling lol.

So here it is

The stamped sentiment reads: What appears to be the end is usually the start of a new beginning. I thought this sentiment fitted the layout so well.

For this piece I used the following products:
Large Dylusions Art Journal
Liquitex Basic Paints
White Gesso
Dylusions Stamp
Andy Skinner Stencil
Black Gesso
Brushes

All of this page has been painted by hand I have not sketched anything out before hand and is the first time I have attempted something like this, Yes most will say oh its not great but to me I am happy with it and that is what matters as it is my art journal and is something for me.

For my first attempt at something like this is not bad going at all, and I hope it inspires you to give art journalling a go there are no rules just go for it and go with the flow as they say.

Don't be scared on starting that first page in your journal as it is for YOU. Do what makes you happy and let yourself go with what ever materials you want to use on your page.

To do this canvas I used the following products:

Embellishments from the kit (feathers spider web and spider die cuts)
