Steampunk Commission

Hey Crafters

Today I thought I would share a commission piece I was asked to do for a customer before Christmas 2018, this piece was done for the customer who wanted it as a Christmas gift for a family member and I was honoured to make this for them.

The customer had seen my Steampunk Jewellery Box and asked If I could create something similar but for a Male, I was so happy and excited to take on this commission and bring it to life, after we discussed all the details I set to work and here is what I did.

Steampunk Stacked Trays with Compartments and Mini Top Hat

Now for lots more photo's of this piece

I am super chuffed with this piece and so was the customer, It was given to the recipient on Christmas Day and I am pleased to say he was over the moon with it, I was even sent some photo's of it in use which I have been given permission to share with you all.

So here it is in it's new home

Doesn't it look great with all of the watches and pocket watches inside, I hope you have enjoyed seeing this piece as much as I did creating it.

I am hoping to do more pieces like this so keep your eyes open for those.

Have you ever had those days where you sit in your crafty area, and what to make something but your mojo is missing and you can not think of what you would like to make or what mood you are in?

Well the day I created the piece I am sharing with you today was one of those days, I sat for sometime looking around my craft room, until I spotted the paint brushes and thought ooo yeah lets have a go at altering one of these....... So with no plan what so ever and just grabbing materials already on my desk I went for it.

Here is what I created

I absolutely LOVE how it turned out and I will be hanging this in my craft room in pride of place above where I work.

Now for some close-up pictures of the canvas

Steampunk Queen

Hi all

Today I have a new project to share with you all, this project is now in my top 5 favourites that I have created recently.

I have called this piece Steampunk Queen.

Before I start to decide on the mediums I am going to use I always pick out my focal point and embellishments and then play around with the arrangement until I am happy.

A little tip for you which I find helpful: Once I am happy with the layout I take a picture so I then have a reference to look at when it comes to adhering everything.

Now to show you Steampunk Queen in all her glory

Now for some close up's to show the texture and detail

I also took a picture of the canvas from the side and a picture with the flash on to show some of the colour

To do this piece I used the following products:
20 x 20 cm Canvas
Black Gesso
Paper Flowers
3D Printed Face - from The Scrap Lab
Laser Cut Frame
That's Crafty Surfaces - Cogs and Large Clocks
Texture Paste
Andy Skinner Stencils - Cogs
IndigoBlu Paints - Kingfisher Blue and Miss Moneypenny
IndigoBlu Paints - I made into sprays - Aladdin and Emerald City
Artsy Stones
Gems

I hope you like what I have done and that it gives you some inspiration.
