Vintage Artist Trading Coins

Hi all

When i first saw Artist Trading Coins I thought they looked really cool and knew I had to give them a go at some point, So after seeing lots of different inspiration and watching a few you tube videos of different people doing them I jumped on the bandwagon as they say.

So here are the ones I have done

My Inspiration for these came from watching Mike Deakin as soon as I saw him use the paper dolls I just had to do my own as I love love love how they look.

The supplies I used to create them are as follows:
Thick White Cardstock
Neon Acrylic Paints
Brayer
Bubble Wrap
White Acrylic Paint
2.5 inch Circle Die
Tim Holtz Paper Dolls
Tim Holtz Small Talk Stickers
Black Soot Distress Ink

I can not wait to make more in the vintage theme with the paper dolls and in other themes especially as I am taking part in a swap each month at my local crop, For this month I kicked it out off with the theme Music and everyone who took part made 3 to swap and they all were amazing, next month is going to be just as amazing and I am sure I shall what I do, I forgot to photograph the my Music theme ones :( oops

They are so easy to do, so much fun and very addictive I hope these have given you some inspiration to make your own.

Believe In Yourself Art Journal Spread

Hey Hey All

Today I am wanting to share with you all my first art journal spread of 2018, One of my main goals for this year is to do more mixed media art.

This double spread is a first as when I do play in my art journal I generally do a single page but this time I went for it with a double page, I didn't really think too much with this spread and just went for it as they say.

Here is my double spread

When I first started to do the background for this I wasn't liking it at all and thought to myself oh here we go it looks a mess you have messed up big time BUT I kept at it and the more I did the better it became and I have to say I LOVE the end result, it is much much brighter in person.

Now for some close up pictures

On this side of the spread I used some Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers which read - believe in yourself, own your dreams, be brave, do what you love

On the right hand side again I used Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers which read - Leave a little sparkle wherever you go, shine like the whole universe is yours

Full Pictures of each side of the spread

Left Side

Right Side

The small talk stickers I chose for this spread were chosen very carefully as I am wanting to be more confident in myself, believe in myself, to be brave and so on and to not let anyone stop my shine or sparkle.

To achieve this spread I have used the following products:
Dylusions Large Art Journal
Neon Acrylic Paints - Pink, Yellow, Blue and Green
White Acrylic Paint
White Gesso
Iridescent Medium
Dylusions Bubblegum Pink Paint
Dylusions Black Paint
Dylusions Stencil (circles)
Star Stencil
Star Punch and Printed out Stars cut out and painted
Modelling Paste Tool
Sponge for stencilling
Black Watercolour Pencil
Old Bank Card to make lines

If you have not tried art journalling and are a little intimidated just go for it there are no rules there is no wrong or right way it is YOUR way. I art journal for me and nobody else and yes if I am happy with what I have done then I shall share but some pages I may not as they may be very personal to me.

Your art journal is exactly that your's something for you to just let yourself go with something you don't have to think about before starting nor do you need expensive products to do it like above some of the paints I have used are crafters acrylics so not artist grade.

One last picture of the spread

I hope this art journal spread has given you lots of inspiration and you like what I have done, Keep your eyes peeled for more mixed media and art journal projects I have so many ideas for mixed media I want to do this year ;).
