Steampunk Queen

Hi all

Today I have a new project to share with you all, this project is now in my top 5 favourites that I have created recently.

I have called this piece Steampunk Queen.

Before I start to decide on the mediums I am going to use I always pick out my focal point and embellishments and then play around with the arrangement until I am happy.

A little tip for you which I find helpful: Once I am happy with the layout I take a picture so I then have a reference to look at when it comes to adhering everything.

Now to show you Steampunk Queen in all her glory

Now for some close up's to show the texture and detail

I also took a picture of the canvas from the side and a picture with the flash on to show some of the colour

To do this piece I used the following products:
20 x 20 cm Canvas
Black Gesso
Paper Flowers
3D Printed Face - from The Scrap Lab
Laser Cut Frame
That's Crafty Surfaces - Cogs and Large Clocks
Texture Paste
Andy Skinner Stencils - Cogs
IndigoBlu Paints - Kingfisher Blue and Miss Moneypenny
IndigoBlu Paints - I made into sprays - Aladdin and Emerald City
Artsy Stones
Gems

I hope you like what I have done and that it gives you some inspiration.

My Little Mermaid

Hey Hey

Yes you guessed it my third and final scrapbook layout I did at my local crop is being shared with you all today.

This layout was so much fun to do and here it is

My Adorable Little Mermaid

I just had to do a layout using this picture my Brother sent me of my Niece in the Mermaid Tail Blanket I made for her (yes I crochet too :) ). Looks like little miss is saying "Not another picture Daddy?? What are you doing to me?"

She looks so cute, I have been asked to make another but a bit bigger for her so I reckon once its done I will get another picture sent over of her in that one hehe.

I have used the Dream Big Collection for this layout .

Here is a close up of a quote I included on the layout, this quote is so so true...

I love how colourful the layout is and how well it matches the photo.

First Cuddles Scrapbook Layout

Today I have another Scrapbook Layout to share with you all, this is another layout I completed while at my local monthly crop.

This layout is one of my most precious memories as it is of me and my beautiful baby niece having our first cuddles. (Lots more cuddles to come for my little munchkin and me)

This layout was created by using a piece of white 12 x 12 card stock and a page out of the 8 x 8 paper pad called It's A Girl, I fussy cut each hexagon out of the page and arranged it onto my white card stock piece until I was happy.

After this was done and all stuck down I then began to back my photo onto another page out of the paper pack and then onto a beautiful piece of purple polka dot foiled paper from another paper pad and stuck it all done, Finally I added some embellishments around the photo, added the banner in the top left corner and to finish the layout added my title.

Here is some close ups

I hope you have enjoyed seeing this layout and it has given you some inspiration to try something a little different to what you normally do for a scrapbook layout.

Like Father Like Daughter Scrapbook Layout

Hi all

Today I am sharing a 12 x 12 Scrapbook layout with you all which I did while at my local crop.

Here is the one of three layouts I completed on the day (I will be sharing the others will you)

This layout is of my Brother when he was a baby and his daughter (my niece). I can not get over how alike they are, there is no mistaking what so ever who her Daddy is, so of cause I had to title this layout Like Father Like Daughter.

Here is a close up of the title

When my brother sent me over the collage he put together of himself and his Daughter I knew I had to do a layout with it.

Altered Jewellery Box

Hi all
Today I have a new creation to share with you all, this one is one of my biggest mixed media pieces I have done to date and I hope you all like what I have done.

I have had this plan wooden jewellery box that I got from my local craft centre for over 12 months and didn't have a clue what I was going to do with it until now......

So here is what I have done with it

As you can see I have completely altered it and made it into a Steampunk Jewellery Box complete with a mini top hat which I have made from scratch.

Now for more photo's of the jewellery box including some close up photo's

It has a draw on the front at the bottom

Side of the jewellery box

The back of the jewellery box and mini top hat

More side on photo's

Now for a close up of the mini top hat, as you can see I have added some black feathers and 3D printed cogs and gears which I painted.

The inside of the jewellery box, showing the tray which can be taken out and some of the mirror.

This project has been an a labour of love and I have enjoyed every minute of bringing it to life, I will definitely be doing more projects along these lines.

I hope you like what I have done with this jewellery box.

August Crop Artist Trading Coin Swap

Hi all

I thought I would pop on and share with you all this months Artist Trading Coins for the monthly swap we have at Crop Central

This Months theme is Mystical (Fairies, Dragons, Wizards, Unicorns etc)

So here is what I have done

I went for Unicorns this time as I do a fair bit with fairies on so fancied a change, to do these coins I used the following supplies:

2.5 inch circle Die
Distress Inks - Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Carved Pumpkin
For The Love Of Stamps - Unicorn Dreams
Spectrum Noir Markers
Wink Of Stella - Clear

I can not wait to swap these with the lovely ladies at crop this Saturday  and to see how we have all taken the theme and made it our own and different.

Why not give Artist Trading Coins a go yourself they are a lot of fun and addictive, I can not wait to find out what next months theme is going to be.
