Dream Canvas

Hello all

Today I have a mixed media canvas piece to share with you all, I have been wanting to do this canvas idea for a long time but was not in the right mood and I am sure you all know when it doesn't feel the time it is best not to do it in case you mess it up, sooooo yesterday was the day to tackle this and I am so pleased with it.

I have called this piece "DREAM" and here it is

As you have now probably guessed why I have called this canvas "Dream"....... Not because of the Dream laser cut wording but as you can see it is a Dream Catcher.

Here are some close up's to show you some of the details on the canvas

I added a fair bit to this to give it that "wow" factor and to be honest I got a little carried away but I think it looks perfect, only thing is the pink colour in the photo's has not shown up as much as I would have liked.

What did I use to make piece? Here is he list of products:
8 x 10 (20 x 25 cm) Canvas
Prima Rose Quartz Papers
Prima Rose Quartz Puffy Stickers
Prima Wild & Free Say It In Crystals
Lace Trim
Dream Laser Cut MDF Wording
Dylusions Paint - Slate Grey and Rose Quarts ( I made my own sprays with the paints too)
Mixture of Flowers
Metal Butterfly Charms
Kaisercraft Ink Spray - Charcoal
Texture Paste
Stencil
Glass Bead Gel
Matt Medium

I hope this canvas has given you some inspiration on using your paper pads in a different way and that you like what I have done.

3D Fairy Shadow Box Frame

Hello my wonderful Crafters and welcome back to my little crafty cave.

Today I am sharing with you the other piece I made while at the Crop last Saturday, here we have a lovely Fairy Shadow Box Frame

This one I did in 3 parts - The picture was handmade, The frame handmade and then the beautiful flower.

To do the fairy scene picture I used the following products:
Distress Oxide Inks - Cracked Pistachio, Broken China, Wilted Violet, and Iced Spruce
Blending Tool
Inkylicious Stencil
Lavinia Stamps

To make the frame I used:

To make the flower I used:
Heart Felt Rose Die
Whisper White Cardstock, which I had done the smooshing technique on with a number of different Distress Oxide Inks

As you will have noticed some of the products are linked to My Stampin' Up Store such as the cardstock, glue, big shot, and score board.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my last piece I did while at the crop and I hope to do more of these fairy scenes as I have missed doing them and they look sooooo pretty with the oxide background.

My First Crop

Hi Crafters :)

I hope everyone is well and had a lovely weekend. My weekend was fab I attended my first ever Crop and it was the first one close to me.

It was organised by Carolyn Summers (Cal) and she did an absolutely amazing job, the whole day was fantastic I really enjoyed myself, I got to go along with my bestie Laura and we both also got to meet a friend of ours from Facebook Jane, It was so nice to finally meet Jane and Cal in person. It was also lovely to meet other like minded crafty people who were also very friendly and welcoming and I am sure will be come friends :)

The crop ran from 10am until 4pm so we had lots of time to craft have a chat with everyone swap ideas and more. Before the day I was chatting to Cal about the Oxide inks and she asked if I would show her them at the Crop, I agreed happily. So the day came and in the afternoon I got my Oxide inks out and it turned into a little demo, it went down a storm everyone loved it and complimented on how well I showed them off and answered all questions :D

I did manage to get some makes done and took some pictures. One of the makes I will include a picture of here but the other two pieces will be done as separate blog posts.

Here is my little workstation for the day :) Yes that is my custom UglyDori TN on the table ;)

Even though it was a small gathering with it being the first one local to me It was a fab day all round and I can not wait for the next one eeeeekkk.

Here is one of the little makes I did on the day, a cute little Handbag Gift bag. The products used to make this were as follows: Falling In Love Designer Series Paper (Retired), Gift Box Punch Board (Retiring and Reduced), Elegant Eggplant Card Stock, Tombow Glue, Bone Folder, Velcro Dots. All products linked will take you to my Stampin' Up! Store where you can purchase them 24/7.

Myself and Cal got hatting before the Crop and on the day of the Crop and we have arranged for me to do some classes/workshops at the crop which I am really looking forward to doing and I shall of cause keep you all posted on when they will be, what class it is and so on.

I just want to say one last thing.... A big thank you to Cal for such a brilliant day and for making me feel so welcome oh and Thank you so much for the Crop Prize :D

Playing With Vellum

Hello all :)

Today's post is as you can guess from the title about playing with Vellum, now I have never used vellum before and after watching one of Jennifer Ever's videos on You Tube where she did some beautiful Vellum Butterflies I just had to give it a try.

So here they are

I used the following products:
Vellum
Spectrum Noir Markers
Black Embossing Powder by WOW
Versamark Ink Pad
Visible Image Large Butterfly Stamp - left butterflies
Recollections Stamps - middle and right butterflies
Heat Tool
Stickles - Diamond and Star Dust
Do Crafts Pearl Effects

I love how these turned out, I will admit I was a little nervous with how they would turn out especially with using stickles on them but remembered that Jen's turned out beautifully and low and behold so did these, I left them over night to dry and then fussy cut them out.

I intend to use these on different projects so keep a look out for those and I am sure you will recognise them when you see them.

Crafty Day With The Bestie

Hi all

Well today's post is so I can share with you all some recent makes I did when me and my best friend had our first crafty day of the new year, We don't get to have crafty day's as often as we used to so when we do we make the most of it, with sharing new techniques we have picked up new products and of cause plenty of giggles and chatting.

So armed with my stamps, inks, blending tools and more off I went with what I wanted to do while my bestie did some collage backgrounds, here is what I come up with

You may recognise the background colours from a previous make I did, I wanted to do the same blended background as I really like the colour combination. So this piece was done using the following products:

White Matt Card 250gsm
Tim Holtz Distress Inks
Versafine Inks
Inkylicious Stencil
Hampton Art Stamp Perfect Tool (New Toy - Blog Post to come about this)

The second piece I wanted to do a more of a daytime background so I referred to my Distress Ink Background Swatch which I have slowly been putting together I will of cause share this with you all as soon as I have finished it. I also wanted to use some of my new Lavinia Stamps... Now I had the stamps I wanted to use and the colours for the background.

And here we have it :)

I absolutely adore how this one came out and how well the background came out, for this piece I used the following:

White Matt Card 250gsm
Distress Inks
Baby Wipe
Inkylicious Stencil
Hampton Art Stamp Perfect Tool

So there we have it two beautiful scenes all completed and ready to either be framed or made into cards.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at these pieces and any questions feel free to comment and I will get back to you :)

Don't forget to keep a look out for my posts on the Stamp Perfect Tool and the Distress Ink Background Swatch.
