Steampunk Butterfly Canvas

Hi Crafters

Today I have a new mixed media piece to share with you all that I have been working on and is now completed and ready to be seen.

Steampunk Butterfly Canvas


I love love love how this turned out and I had so much fun working with the different textures, Here are some close up pictures 




I also took a photo of the canvas from the side and another with the flash on to show off the colours

Galaxy Altered Paint Brush Canvas

Hi Crafters

Have you ever had those days where you sit in your crafty area, and what to make something but your mojo is missing and you can not think of what you would like to make or what mood you are in?

Well the day I created the piece I am sharing with you today was one of those days, I sat for sometime looking around my craft room, until I spotted the paint brushes and thought ooo yeah lets have a go at altering one of these....... So with no plan what so ever and just grabbing materials already on my desk I went for it.

Here is what I created


I absolutely LOVE how it turned out and I will be hanging this in my craft room in pride of place above where I work.

For this piece I used the following products:

I hope this piece gives you some inspiration, just remember anything is possible and if you don't have a plan don't be scared just go for it and see where it takes you. Sometimes the un-planned projects turn out to be some of your best work.

Shabby Chic Canvas

Hi all

Today is new challenge day over at Happy Little Stampers , this months Mixed Media challenge theme is 



So for this months challenge I have done something a little different to my usual and gone for a bit of a shabby chic look.

Abstract Mixed Media Canvas

Hi all

Well it is that time again for a new challenge over on the Happy Little Stampers Blog, this months theme for the mixed media challenge is 


For my inspiration for this challenge I have done something completely different for me something I have been wanting to do for a while....... Here is my Abstract Canvas


I absolutely loved creating this piece and will definitely be tackling it again and I think I shall do something a lot bigger too.

Steampunk Queen

Hi all

Today I have a new project to share with you all, this project is now in my top 5 favourites that I have created recently.

I have called this piece Steampunk Queen.

Before I start to decide on the mediums I am going to use I always pick out my focal point and embellishments and then play around with the arrangement until I am happy.

A little tip for you which I find helpful: Once I am happy with the layout I take a picture so I then have a reference to look at when it comes to adhering everything.

Dream Canvas

Hello all

Today I have a mixed media canvas piece to share with you all, I have been wanting to do this canvas idea for a long time but was not in the right mood and I am sure you all know when it doesn't feel the time it is best not to do it in case you mess it up, sooooo yesterday was the day to tackle this and I am so pleased with it.

I have called this piece "DREAM" and here it is 


As you have now probably guessed why I have called this canvas "Dream"....... Not because of the Dream laser cut wording but as you can see it is a Dream Catcher.

I added a fair bit to this to give it that "wow" factor and to be honest I got a little carried away but I think it looks perfect, only thing is the pink colour in the photo's has not shown up as much as I would have liked.

Steampunk Mixed Media Skull Canvas

Hello Lovelies.

Well it is all go here at HQ as I have a couple of market nights I am taking part in so have been busy working on products for those,I also have a class I am teaching in November so have been busy getting things in order for all that amongst much more.

So today I have a new creation to share with you all which has been made for the Halloween market night I am taking part in. 

Here is my Steampunk Mixed Media Skull Canvas

This canvas was so much fun to bring to life and I love how it all came together.

Grey Board Cogs and Gears which I die cut using the Tim Holtz Gadget Gears #2

Prima Marketing Art Alchemy Waxes (I used a mixture of Opal Magic and Antique Brilliance)
Indigo Blue Miss Moneypenny Metallic Paint
Indigo Blu Kingfisher Blue Metallic Paint
Mike Deakin Steampunk Skull Stencil


I am loving working with the Art Alchemy waxes they are so easy to use and give a stunning effect, they also smell really nice too, as you can see from the list I used a variety of different materials to give me the texture and look I was going for.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing this and it has given you some inspiration to get your mixed media products out and to get messy and creative, remember there are no mistakes only happy accidents.

This Is Indeed A Mystery Mixed Media Canvas

Hi all

Today I have a mixed media canvas to share with you all, Which I did while at a crop day on Saturday, We get a kit each month to use while at the crop or to use at home which ever we like, This months kit was the Graphic 45 Master Detective.

So here we have what I have done with some bits from one of the sheets which was in the kit including some of the embellishments.


To do this canvas I used the following products:
20 x 20cm Canvas
Black Gesso
Master Detective 12 x 12 Sheet - Cut parts from this that i wanted to use
Embellishments from the kit (feathers spider web and spider die cuts)
Border Drip Stencil
Modelling Paste
Candied Apple Distress Ink
Matt Medium
Foam Tape
Scissors

I loved doing this piece with the kit as it was so different to doing a scrapbook layout. I also shared this picture on my Instagram and it got noticed by Graphic 45 eeeeek they even commented on it which made me grin like a Cheshire cat.

Be In Love With Your Life Canvas - June Pickle Pack

Hi Lovelies.

Today I have a mixed media canvas to share with you all which I have made using products from the fantastic June Pickle Pack from Pickle Paper Patch.

You can do sooooo many things with your kit I love how versatile they are and they are worth every penny, Pssssst there are only a few left and can be shipped internationally.


To do this canvas I used the following products from the kit:
Dimensionals Texture Paste
Palette Knife
Lavender Ink Pad
Carpe Diem Sticker Sheet
Flowers
Cream Lace
Products I have used which are my own:
Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Blending Tool
Matte Medium
Tombow Glue

I love the flowers which come in the kits as you can see I have only used three out of the five which means I have some left over to use and I even still have some of the cream lace, plenty of the stickers and plenty of the paste.
