This Is Indeed A Mystery Mixed Media Canvas

Hi all

Today I have a mixed media canvas to share with you all, Which I did while at a crop day on Saturday, We get a kit each month to use while at the crop or to use at home which ever we like, This months kit was the Graphic 45 Master Detective.

So here we have what I have done with some bits from one of the sheets which was in the kit including some of the embellishments.

To do this canvas I used the following products:
20 x 20cm Canvas
Black Gesso
Master Detective 12 x 12 Sheet - Cut parts from this that i wanted to use
Embellishments from the kit (feathers spider web and spider die cuts)
Border Drip Stencil
Modelling Paste
Candied Apple Distress Ink
Matt Medium
Foam Tape
Scissors

I loved doing this piece with the kit as it was so different to doing a scrapbook layout. I also shared this picture on my Instagram and it got noticed by Graphic 45 eeeeek they even commented on it which made me grin like a Cheshire cat.

I hope you like what I have done and it inspires you to try something new with your 12x12 papers.

Inspired Make

Hi all

Welcome back to my blog, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

Today's post is to share with you a piece I did yesterday when I finally got back into my craft room YAY!!.. This particular piece I was inspired by Mrs Davies Crafts after watching one of her videos on her Facebook page. So here we have it my take on what Karen did :)

For this piece I used the following products:
White Smooth Card
Distress Inks - Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistachio
Inkylicious Stencil
Lavinia Stamps - Fox and Leaves

I loved how this came out once I had finished with it I wasn't so sure while I was doing it but once I had done all the focal points and then bought it all together at the end with inking the edges and bringing them in.

I hope you like what I have done here, I also have another make to share with you all which I will be doing a separate post for.

I absolutely love how this turned out in the end, there is one stamp that I have had for a while that I have been wanting to use but could never think so after having a look around on Pinterest for some inspiration I had an idea in mind and have to admit it come together so much better than I could have hoped for.

Dragon Eggs and Dragon Egg Lantern

Hi all and welcome back to my blog

Today's post is something a little different I have been wanting to try for a while now and finally got around to giving it a go.

I saw this first done on another blog that i follow regular and have to say I absolutely love Teresa's work, the effect of these is amazing and they look fantastic so many possibilities with them.

So here is my version of some Dragon Eggs and a Dragon Egg Lantern

I also inserted a light into the lantern so it can be lit up at night and it looks amazing when all lit up, I absolutely love making these and already have my fourth egg in the making, which of cause I shall share with you all as soon as it is finished as this one is a little something else.

Here is a few pictures of the lantern lit up

As you can see I even added in some fake grass and some lovely little daisy flowers, to give it the look of the Dragon Egg being in a next in an enchanted forest.

The black dragon egg has been given a glitter effect too which sets it off brilliantly, as I said before the possibilities are endless with these as you can do them in so many different ways, different sizes and so on. I am also hoping to sell some of them too which I am quite excited about as they are something different, also hoping to do one in a lovely chest which I will be decorating all by hand too so watch this space for my Dragon Eggs.

Lastly just to say a big Thank you to Teresa for her inspiration and for the advice and giving me that little push i needed to give this a go, I am so pleased I did and now I can not get enough of making them hehe.

Galaxy Themed Mixed Media Art Canvas

Hello All and Welcome to The Crafty Bat

I am a big fan of the galaxy look so I wanted to create my own on a 5x5 framed canvas, I used the following materials: Distress Ink Pads, Blending Tool, Water, Dew Drop Ink, Water Brush and a lovely quote stamp from Bee Crafty.

To get the look I was after I had to decide on the colours I wanted to use this took some time with changing my mind then looking at other colour combos until I was finally happy

I layered up the colours bit by bit and then went over all the edging to give it a dark space look I finished the canvas off with a mixture of white ink and water and flicked it on.

Next I used a Star Stencil and my white ink with my water brush and coloured in the stars in the stencil and carefully removed the stencil.

The last part I then stamped the quote onto some smooth white card, cut it out and inked the edges up and then played about with where to put the quote. Once I was happy I then glued them into place.

TAAADAAAA!!

One galaxy themed canvas complete with a fitting quote "Shoot for the moon Even if you miss you'll land among the STARS"

I hope this has given you some inspiration to have a try your self, play around with different colour combinations and techniques and most of all have fun doing it.
