Vintage Artist Trading Coins

Hi all

When i first saw Artist Trading Coins I thought they looked really cool and knew I had to give them a go at some point, So after seeing lots of different inspiration and watching a few you tube videos of different people doing them I jumped on the bandwagon as they say.

So here are the ones I have done

My Inspiration for these came from watching Mike Deakin as soon as I saw him use the paper dolls I just had to do my own as I love love love how they look.

The supplies I used to create them are as follows:
Thick White Cardstock
Neon Acrylic Paints
Brayer
Bubble Wrap
White Acrylic Paint
2.5 inch Circle Die
Tim Holtz Paper Dolls
Tim Holtz Small Talk Stickers
Black Soot Distress Ink

I can not wait to make more in the vintage theme with the paper dolls and in other themes especially as I am taking part in a swap each month at my local crop, For this month I kicked it out off with the theme Music and everyone who took part made 3 to swap and they all were amazing, next month is going to be just as amazing and I am sure I shall what I do, I forgot to photograph the my Music theme ones :( oops

They are so easy to do, so much fun and very addictive I hope these have given you some inspiration to make your own.

This months 5 prompts which have to be used are as follows:
Gold
Glitter
Love
Wood Embellishments
Use Your Scraps

So here is what I came up with

This layout is of me and my hubby to be when we had a random day out in Blackpool, to include the 5 prompts I used: Gold Kaisercraft Ink Spray, Scrap pieces of papers which I layered behind the photo, I used some scrap vellum which has some lovely hearts on, I also used some heart and Love stickers and a love quote cut apart. I then added a key and butterfly wooden embellishent, to finish it all off I added a title using some cork alphabet stickers.

If you would like to take part in this fun challenge you can join the group >>> HERE <<< it is only a bit of fun and something to hep give your mojo a kick when it is lacking. Each month we have 5 prompts to include on our creation. The challenge is kicked off on the 1st of every month by Laura who will share here creation first then on the 2nd week you will see some inspiration from Caroln (Cal) and then the 3rd week I post my inspiration :)

Art Journal Play Time

Hey Hey

Today I  thought I would share with you all a double page layout in my large Dylusions Art Journal.

This time I didn't use any texture pastes etc and just kept it simple with minimal supplies a bit of a back to the basics.

So here is what I came up with although it was more of a go with the flow play

No Flash

 Flash

For this layout I used the following supplies:
Large Dylusions Art Journal
Distress Oxide Inks
Water Spray
Cog Die Cuts in Kraft Card
Tim Holtz Small Talk Stickers
Tim Holtz Paper Dolls

It is quite surprising what you can achieve with just a few supplies which is something we seem to forget when we are so used to using texture paste and more, as we say less is more at times and i really enjoyed doing this with little supplies, it was a bit of a Grab 5 like Adele (Inkie Quill) does.

I hope you like what I have done here and it inspires you

Monthly Crop Motivational Challenge (January)

Hi all

Today I wanted to share a scrapbook layout with you all.

As some of you know each month I attend a local Crop with my best friend wellmy best friend and the wonderful Cal who runs the crop worked together to start a Motivation Inspiration Challenge for each month as a bit of fun.

So this started in January and yes I know I am a little behind in sharing this with you so here goes.

For January we had to include the following 5 prompts in our creation, It could be a scrapbook layout, Card, Mixed Media project anything you wanted as long as it involved the following prompts.

As soon as I saw the prompts on the 1st Jan I noticed the Lilac and Autumn and you guessed it thought oh no how am I going to incorporate those together, So I got my thinking cap on and played around with a few ideas until TAADAAA!!! Light bulb moment.

And here is my scrapbook layout.

As you can see I have done a 12 x 12 layout now if you have been following my blog for some time you will know I haven't been a scrapbooker for long but have to admit I am really enjoying the journey.

To do this I used my scrumptious Distress Oxide Inks to create the background using the smooshing technique, I also die cut some leaves out on my big shot and again used my Distress Oxide inks to colour them. (Prompt Autumn)

The quote and the picture of me (Prompt Selfie) was printed out on my Canon Selphy and backed onto the some beautiful Designer Series Paper, the quote I found on google images and is a well know quote from Harry Potter (which i love) it reads " Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times. If one only remembers to turn on the light" - Albus Dumbledore (Prompts Motivational and Use a Quote)

Even though in this picture you can not see it, it does have a lilac background to it YAY lilac. (Prompt Lilac)

I also used my Crushed grape Mica Spray on the layout and on the leaves so this added more of a lilac look to it and lastly used Shaded Lilac Distress Ink on the edges on the layout. (Prompt Lilac)

I hope this gives you some inspiration also and you have enjoyed seeing what I did by incorporating the 5 prompts.

Believe In Yourself Art Journal Spread

Hey Hey All

Today I am wanting to share with you all my first art journal spread of 2018, One of my main goals for this year is to do more mixed media art.

This double spread is a first as when I do play in my art journal I generally do a single page but this time I went for it with a double page, I didn't really think too much with this spread and just went for it as they say.

Here is my double spread

When I first started to do the background for this I wasn't liking it at all and thought to myself oh here we go it looks a mess you have messed up big time BUT I kept at it and the more I did the better it became and I have to say I LOVE the end result, it is much much brighter in person.

Now for some close up pictures

On this side of the spread I used some Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers which read - believe in yourself, own your dreams, be brave, do what you love

On the right hand side again I used Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers which read - Leave a little sparkle wherever you go, shine like the whole universe is yours

Full Pictures of each side of the spread

Left Side

Right Side

The small talk stickers I chose for this spread were chosen very carefully as I am wanting to be more confident in myself, believe in myself, to be brave and so on and to not let anyone stop my shine or sparkle.

To achieve this spread I have used the following products:
Dylusions Large Art Journal
Neon Acrylic Paints - Pink, Yellow, Blue and Green
White Acrylic Paint
White Gesso
Iridescent Medium
Dylusions Bubblegum Pink Paint
Dylusions Black Paint
Dylusions Stencil (circles)
Star Stencil
Star Punch and Printed out Stars cut out and painted
Modelling Paste Tool
Sponge for stencilling
Black Watercolour Pencil
Old Bank Card to make lines

If you have not tried art journalling and are a little intimidated just go for it there are no rules there is no wrong or right way it is YOUR way. I art journal for me and nobody else and yes if I am happy with what I have done then I shall share but some pages I may not as they may be very personal to me.

Your art journal is exactly that your's something for you to just let yourself go with something you don't have to think about before starting nor do you need expensive products to do it like above some of the paints I have used are crafters acrylics so not artist grade.

One last picture of the spread

I hope this art journal spread has given you lots of inspiration and you like what I have done, Keep your eyes peeled for more mixed media and art journal projects I have so many ideas for mixed media I want to do this year ;).

This is an example of what they were going to make in the class, including decoration, tags, 3x3 cards and 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 cards.

The class went amazingly well and I am super chuffed with all who attended the class they all did amazingly well and each one was stunning.

I thought I would share some pictures with you all of the class in action and the end result.

Now for a group photo of the ladies with their Stationery Gift Box

Seeing the smiles on their faces says it all, to know you have lead the class and shown the attendees how to do something is the greatest feeling ever and I absolutely loved teaching these lovely ladies.
