INSD 2019 - International Scrapbook Day

4th May 2019 is International Scrapbook Day and I attended a class at the INSD Retreat ran by Cal Summers to do a scrapbook layout, so I thought I would share it with you all

Here is the layout

I absolutely loved doing this class and I am so pleased with how my layout turned out, I used a photo of me and my hubby to be which was taken at Alton Towers a few years ago.

The layout consisted of lots of fussy cutting, getting some of the paper wet and then scrunching it all up :O :O noooooo, but the effect it gives the paper is worth it, even when holes and tears appeared in it, and adding dimension to it, the papers we used in this class were 13 Arts, there is even some chipboard hidden in the layout which we painted in colours to compliment the layout, to finish the layout off we also got to pick some die cut words from the Happiness collection.

I absolutely love taking part in the crop, classes and retreats ran by Cal, she is amazing and has become a wonderful friend who has helped my confidence so much you can check out Cal's classes and more on her website >>> HERE<<<<. I highly recommend everything Cal offers.

The Best Thing About Memories Is Making Them Layout

Welcome back to my blog today I have another scrapbook layout to share with you all.

This layout features a photograph of - From left to right - My Great-Grandmother Violet Elizabeth (my Nan's Mum), My Nan (Holding my Dad) and my Great-Grandmother Sarah Jane (My Grandad's Mum)

I have scrap-lifted this layout from one of Gold Dove Crafts layouts and I love how mine came out and if you know of Virgina's beautiful layouts you will see how different the same layout can look using different elements and theme.

The supplies I used for this layout are as follows:
A few embellishments from my own stash but majority are from the kit
Envelope Punch Board
Glue
Double Sided Tape
Scissors
Paper Trimmer
Distress Tool.

I did this layout on the same day I did the layout I shared with you all yesterday which were done at my local crop, as this kit was our monthly crop kit too, the lovely Karen who owns Charmed Cards and Crafts puts together a little prize for the best use of the kit but it must be done while at the crop, all of us who did had our layouts voted for on a secret ballot and this month I WON!!! I was so surprised and happy...... Here is what I won

Just look at those beauties... Prima Flowers, Die, and some metal vintage embellishments.

I hope you like what I have done and my take on Gold Dove Crafts layout, and I hope this has given you lots of inspiration.

Darling Scrapbook Layout

Hi Lovelies

Today I have a scrapbook layout to share with you all which I created while at my local Crop a couple of weeks ago.

This layout is of my beautiful Nan and the photograph which I used is of her when she was in her late teens early 20's, this lady is my world not just my Nan but like a Mum to me.

For this layout I used some elements from the Vintage Charm Kit along with some extra beautiful papers which I purchased from Thompsons Craft Supplies. I also added some ephemera from my own stash.

This layout took me a while as I played around with where everything was going for some time until I was completely satisfied and then I took a picture of it so I would remember where everything went as I stuck each individual piece down.

As you can see on this layout I have included lace, pearls, cheesecloth, wood veneer along with the beautiful ephemera pieces from the kit and my own stash. I added the sewing machine, scissors, ruler, button and spool to the layout as my Nan worked in textiles for many years, she loves flowers and butterflies so this layout really is her.

Once everything as stuck down I finished it off by doing some antique gold ink splatters which I also used as a base behind the photograph which you can see peeking out at the top and on one of the sides.

I have decided that this piece is going to be framed instead of just going into an album.

I hope you have Enjoyed seeing this layout and it has inspired you

This first page features some of the cards from the Memories and More card pack called Perfect Days. I took this picture before I did any journaling as some information on this layout is private.

This is the reverse side of the layout and on this side as you can see on the big photo at the bottom yes that is me lay on the floor with a Chile Rose Tarantula on my face!!!
The top right hand side includes a small collage of pictures of myself doing the face my fear there is also a picture within the collage of myself with Dale and Kyle who at that time was the Mayor of Kidsgrove and my reward for doing this big challenge was a certificate and cuddles with the beautiful Skittles ( A Skunk).

On this side of the layout again I used some of the Memories and More Cards from the Perfect Days pack, I have also used some of the beautiful Coffee Cafe DSP papers to back my photographs on.

I Am T-REX 12x12 Layout

Hello lovelies.

Today I have another Scrapbook Layout to share with you all, I am so behind on sharing these with you all :(.

This layout was done at a monthly crop I attend and I found doing this layout so hard but I felt ready to do it while there as It made things easier being surrounded by friends and other crafters.

So I will shut up blabbing and show you all.

This layout is of my hubby-to-be and his late brother David being their usual selves after the wedding of their Dad and Step-Mum... Yes for some strange reason on this evening they had decided to be a T-Rex HA HA. I will admit it was so funny when they were doing it.

A close up pictures of part of the layout

The reason this was such a hard layout to do is sadly we suddenly lost David on 16/08/16 but I knew I had to do this layout as it is such a cherished memory for us both and I knew hubby to be would appreciate it I do have another layout which includes David to share with you all but that will be another day.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing this layout and it made you smile even though in other ways it is upsetting. But I will say David was always the prankster and joker of the family and random funny things like on this layout were a daily thing.

The Promise 6x6 Mini Album

Hi all

Today I have something very different and new to share with you all, well it is not a new creation to make but is something new for me to make, A beautiful 6x6 mini album which I have made by hand.

I have really been looking forward to sharing this with you all and have been working on this beauty bit by bit in-between my other projects and Design Team projects.

So here it is The Promise 6x6 Mini Album

The cover of this beautiful mini album has embossed designer series paper on the front and back and a beautiful pearl flower trim down the edges.

Now for the inside of the mini album

As you can see there is plenty of space on the pages to add photographs, journal-ling and much more each page has an insert which also has room for photographs and journal-ling.

This mini album has been made from scratch including the album cover, this has been made with a lot of love and care and I am so proud of this piece as It is my first ever mini album and most certainly will not be my last

This would make a perfect gift for a wedding due to the beautiful papers which have been used all the way through the album.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at this mini album as much as I have enjoyed bringing it to life and I hope it gives you lots of inspiration.

Pistyll Waterfall 12x12 Layouts

Hi all

Today I have a couple of scrapbook layouts to share with you all from our visit to a beautiful waterfall in Wales.

Here is the first layout of us at the Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall

We had a wonderful day out in Wales and this waterfall was beautiful to see, just a shame that while we were there it was raining

Now for some close up shots of the layout.

On this layout I used some of the Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers which I think fitted these pictures perfectly. Behind the last photo I slotted in the parking ticket we saved as I knew I wanted to include it on this layout.

Now for the second Layout of the Waterfall

Of cause we both took plenty of pictures it was just too beautiful not too. We only got to look at the waterfall from the very bottom and look up to the top as to get to the top would have taken 20 minutes walking, which due to having fibromyalgia was a no go for me :( boooo.

Now for some close ups

Again I used some of the Tim Holtz Small Talk Stickers which I thought fitted perfectly with the layout and pictures. I also used my corner rounder on the pictures.

Products used for both layouts:
12x12 Papers
Tim Holtz Small Talk Stickers
Flower Stickers
Thickers
Corner Punch
Foam Tape
Tombow Glue
Paper Trimmer
Canon Selphy Printer

We also visited The Great Orme in Llandudno on the same day which I have also done a layout on and I shall be sharing that with you on another blog post. I look forward to sharing that layout with you all.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my two layouts and they inspire you.
